Local Ministries - Fellowship

All Church Christmas Caroling

The annual Christmas caroling is typically held the first Sunday of December.  One part of the committee will organize singing groups and nursing homes or individual homes for each group to sing at.  Another part of the committee will organize and prepare a chili supper for after the carolers return.

A couple times each year the trustees will organize a potluck dinner for the congregation to share in food and fellowship together.  It is typically followed by a brief singing.

Small Group Gatherings

Small group gatherings are an opportunity to interact and build relationships for all ages that attend the Apostolic Christian Church of Roanoke. We encourage participation for people in single digits to triple digits. Sign up as an individual, couple, family, or as 2-3 friends. These gatherings will allow for “participation only” or the opportunity to participate as a host occasionally if you choose. Those who host can indicate their preferences on the size and type of group they would prefer and can choose to be as creative or as simple with hosting as they feel comfortable. A few examples would be bonfire and singing, coffee and dessert evening, have dinner together, plan a fish fry, appetizer potluck, picnic in the park, or pizza party. Gatherings will occur two times in 2022 as a way to help our church body connect and spend time together with a variety of people.

Gatherings will occur 2-5 times per year and organized by the host.  Couples and pairs of single people of all generations who sign up are split into groups of various size with the group participants changing each time.  These are intended to promote fellowship within our local congregation and build relationships with people we may not see on a regular basis.

Please fill out this form to sign up for Small Group Gatherings.

Invite-a-Friend Weekend

Invite-a-friend is an annual event where all who attend the Roanoke church are encouraged to invite a guest to Roanoke for a Sunday of worship, fellowship, and singing.  This helps to encourage first-time guests as well as preserve our rich heritage of traveling within our denomination.

After church, guests are encouraged to go back to their host's house to relax and then all gather together again for an evening meal and singing.
