August Collection - HarvestCall Servant Fund

 

Sunday, 8/18

●    Bro. Clark Stoller (Gridley) will have the morning service.

●    Bro. Frank plans to give a conference summary during the second service.

●    Lunch provided by Fred & Cheri Janssen

●    ISU Young Group Welcome Night at the Bloomington church for all ISU, Wesleyan or Heartland Community College students and college aged working individuals.Pizza dinner will begin at 4:00 and all are also invited to attend Bloomington church at 9:30 that morning. Parents are encouraged to attend. If you plan to attend, we would appreciate an RSVP by Sunday, August 4. Please text your name and how many from your family plan to attend to Addie Waibel: (217) 552-5196. If you are unable to attend the dinner, but would still like to be added to the weekly email chain, please text Addie too.

 

Trail Life and American Heritage Girls Open House and Registration Night Trail Life and American Heritage Girls:

·        There will be an open house and registration night on Monday, August 19th at 6:00 pm.  

·        Trail Life will meet in the church basement. The NW doors that lead directly to the basement will be unlocked. 

·        American Heritage Girls will meet at the Fellowship Hall.

·        Please come out to learn more about these organizations and to register your kids for the upcoming troop year.

 

Wednesday, 8/21

●    Cemetery Volunteer Help Needed from 9-noon. Please text Greg Moser at 309-573-6891 if you are able to help so he can plan accordingly. We plan to continue this each week until Labor Day.

 

The 2024 Homecoming Benefit - August 23rd and 24th - Bill of Sale attached

●    A bake sale and farmers market will be held during the Fish Fry on Friday night.

●    Breakfast, children’s activity area, bake sale, auction and lunch on Saturday.

●    All events and activities will take place on our campus.

●    Thank you to all who have already signed up to help at the Nursing Home Benefit. There are a few areas where help is still needed. See the following links:

●    Men's Steak Dinner on Friday September 20 at Stephen & Susan Bertschi's land. All men high school age and older are welcome to attend! Come anytime after 5 pm and dinner will be served at 6 pm. ●    Save the Date - Ladies Day will be on September 21st from 8:45 a.m. to noon.

 

National Church

●    Sister Heart 2024 - will be held in Fairbury on August 24-25 at 8am. The weekend will include singing, recording a CD, fellowship and worshiping together.

●    The second annual adoption/foster families support day, Grafted Gathering, will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024. ●    Apologetics Conference - will be held on November 9th in Smithville. This year's theme is "I’m Glad You Asked: How Good Questions Turn Doubt to Faith". More information and a registration link can be found on the Apologetics Conference 2024 Website. Registration is required so that Smithville can make adequate plans for food, materials, and staffing.
