November Collection -  Gateway Woods


Sunday, 11/17

  • Bible Class students will sing their ACYF songs following the morning service.
  • Lunch provided by Joyce Hodel
  • We rejoice with Gabe Hartter and Sophia Kaufman as their wedding is today in Morton.


 Wednesday, 11/20

  • In this season of counting our blessings and giving thanks, the Scripture Memory Class teachers and students would like to invite the church to join us in the dining room this Wednesday evening immediately following services for a snack buffet served as a token of our thankfulness for our church family. All are welcome to join us for a time of fellowship!
  • WOW will meet at 6:30 at Fellowship Hall
  • ACTIVE will meet at the DMV at 6:30 to go shopping for Christmas gifts for Heart House. Please send donation money for the gifts. Boys will return to church afterward. 
  • HOPE will meet from 7:15-8:30 in the church basement to pack boxes for Samaritan's Purse.
  • Scripture Memory will meet in the dining room at 7:15.


Young Group:

  • Tuesday, 11/19 - No Tuesday Night Singing
  • Friday, 11/22 - LIGHT Bible Study at Stephen & Susan Bertschi’s at 7pm.
  • Saturday, 11/23 - SALT & LIGHT Service Day at the Nursing Home Duplexes - Snacks/games to follow at Sam and Marjorie Bertschi’s.


Sunday, 11/24 - Jonathan and Megan will be traveling to Belvidere church and are looking for any others willing to join in. They could use song leaders and Sunday school teachers to help out. After church they plan to sing at a local nursing home and eat pizza before heading home. We plan to meet at the high school parking lot at 8am that day. Please let Jonathan out Megan know if you are able to come along.


2025 LUNCH SERVING LIST & FUNERAL CALL LIST UPDATES

Anyone wanting to have their name added or removed from the Sunday Lunch Serving List OR the Funeral Call List should contact Cheryl Baurer (309-645-7505) before 12/1/24.


Sunday, 12/1 - Annual Church Christmas Caroling - We will meet at the Fellowship Hall at 4:00. 


Thursday, 12/5 - Helping Hands will be having our Christmas luncheon. For planning purposes please notify Rita Schwind by Nov. 30 if you plan to attend. Thank you.

National Church

  • HarvestCall Winter 2025 Project will be in Jasper, Texas. This area was hit with massive flooding in April and May and then a hurricane in July, 2024. While construction is the obvious activity of this ministry, the primary goal is to share the love of Christ and proclaim the Gospel. 40 volunteers are needed each week starting 1/12/25 and continuing through 3/28/25. Skilled and unskilled workers are needed. Online registration is required and opens at noon Central time on Wednesday Nov. 20th at www.harvestcall.org

Other Ways to Learn and Serve

  • Perspectives is a 15 week class on God's heart for the nations. The class will be held Monday nights, 6:15-9pm beginning January 20th in Washington. The first class is free.  Washington, IL S25 - Perspectives USA
