August’s Collection - HarvestCall Servant Fund - This fund provides modest financial support for brothers and sisters sent as full-time missionaries by HarvestCall. With approximately 40 missionary brothers and sisters currently serving (see attachment below), total expenses are about $100,000 per month. Those serving as well as HarvestCall express gratitude for your support.

Sunday 8/14 - 2nd Service - Elder Conference Summary 

Wednesday 8/17 - Family Night - Bro. Fred & Sis. Jodi will be speaking to the church about their experiences in Papua New Guinea.  Supper will begin at 6:30, and we will again be eating pizza in the church dining room.   After eating, please proceed to the fellowship hall for the presentation.  Singing will begin at 7:15.

Sunday 8/28 -Men in the Word - Sunday 8/28 will begin a 4-week series of foundational Bible teaching for young men (who have not been baptized) ranging from recent high school graduates through their 20’s and 30’s. This series will be led by the Minister team taking turns with the lessons.  If you know of any young men who are transitioning out of high school or friends who desire to learn more about the Bible, please pass along their contact information to Bro. Jonathan Hodel.

Nursing Home

• Chocolate Chip Cookies - There is a sign up on the bulletin board for the Friday night fish fry at the nursing home. The cookies need to be at the nursing home by Thursday August 25 at 4:30.
• Dining Room Help Needed - They are looking for a full-time person to work 11am – 4pm, 4 days per week.  They are also looking for part-time people to work from 4pm-7pm, 2-3 days per week.  This is a great position for high school students.  Some weekend work will also be needed for both of these positions.
• CNA’s Needed for 2nd and 3rd Shifts.  A CNA class will also be offered at the home this fall, if there is interest.  Please contact the home for more details. 309-923-2071.

Farewell - Dani Chiotti is moving to MN to attend Bemidji State University, where her mom lives and teaches. This will be her last Sunday in Roanoke.
